I finally finished out my coaching semester with Nick Flanagan and I just have to say that I am so incredibly thankful for him. Without him I never would have been able to grow my business in this market. I recently had the most closing in December and February for my entire branch because of him.

"Direction. I think more than anything it’s direction. I had no idea what I was doing- I was an underwriter at a big insurance company for 7 years and somehow I quadrupled my income last year. I couldn’t have done that on my own if I just would of went to some random mortgage company and I %1000 believe it’s very much a godsend to end up where I was. I think more than anything, coaching has just given me direction and submission. "

"7 years is how long I have been coached. This is my 21st year in the mortgage industry… and the only thing I wish I could do different even though I know that God has a plan is I wish I would have gotten coached sooner. And what I would change about coaching is I wish I would of surrendered sooner. Coaching has changed my life. Total Net worth I am going to hit 3 million this year. The best thing about coaching this year was that we’re all in this together. And so this year has brought us closer I think than ever. "

I originated my first loan in April 2018. I was part time and also in an LP role for another LO until I went full time originator in December 2019. When my team moved to Summit in December 2019, I was eager to start. Coaching is one of the reasons I wanted to come to Summit Funding. I wanted a coach to look to for guidance, ideas, and to help me build a vision for my future. I began coaching the beginning of 2020. Coaching has helped me with ACCOUNTABILITY – let’s face it, I will do more for others than myself. I have always been a pleaser and if someone I trust asks me to do something, I want to perform well and make them proud. Coaching keeps me on my toes, gives me ideas, and helps me stay in front of the market. If you are considering coaching, JUST DO IT! You will love it. I know it seems like a lot of extra work and money initially, but once you get started if you truly surrender you will never think of the money or want out of the program. Surrounding yourself with growth-minded individuals will help you grow. You will never be able to do it all – you’ll never be perfect, but you have to keep learning and growing! Now I want to learn how to be a great coach to others.

I was in the Marketing Department at Summit Funding, then made the jump into sales October of 2018 – 2019 was my first full actual year. Woo! I also started coaching October 2018. It’s great to have your Branch Manager and mentor/team leader within your branch, but also having a coach is extremely helpful to get another opinion on things that all of you may have never thought of. There is already a blueprint of how to do this job and how to be successful. Just do what you’re told, fill out your greatness and lead tracker, and you will be successful. The activity in the greatness tracker is how you will generate business. Just do it and fill that baby up each week. I need a coach because I get in my own head all the time and need to be put in check haha. I need someone to push me and hold me accountable to getting things done I need to do. It’s one of the main reasons I’ve been able to be successful in this business. The support from my team, team leader/branch manager are wonderful and I’m so thankful for them teaching me how to originate a loan. But I’m also so thankful for coaching to show me how to be a salesperson.
